Dear All It is a matter of pride and pleasure for Mathematics community that Government of India has declared the Year 2012 as National Year of Mathematics to commemorate the 125 th Birth Anniversary of eminent Mathematician ‘Sri Nivas Ramanujan’. To pay our homage to this great man, it is decided to start a series of programme in the year 2012 with the intention of making it a mass movement namely ‘Mathematics Movement’. A three day workshop at S. D. Public School was scheduled from 26 th July to 28 th July, 2012. It is a matter for pride for me that I was invited there as a Resource Person to take different sessions on the topic “ Solving Real Life Problems using Mathematics ’”. Dear All On 28 June , I (along with whole staff of CRPF School) attended a workshop by renowned Physicist and Educationist Prof. M. M. Pant . It was a great learning experience. The two things which inspired me the most are as follows: A. Dear Students Of Class XII It is observed that many a times, after teachers have explained certain topics and have discussed certain questions from the related exercise, not all the questions of the exercise are being solved/attempted by the students. It is practically impossible and undesirable for the teacher to solve each and every question in the class itself. The remaining questions are supposed to be attempted by the student at home. However, it is very much possible that the student is unable to successfully solve all of them. After discussing this issue with the students, I have decided to make the NCERT textbook solutions available at my blog. The solutions are taken from www.meritnation.com. Dear All, Please check the following additions in class XI and class XII Mathematics syllabus (CBSE). Remember that these are provided by CBSE in the form of supplementary books and not given in main NCERT textbook. Get the supplementary book (quite difficult to arrange) or take out print out of the attached files. Also, do inform your Maths teacher to teach following subtopics (in case they are not aware).
